About Us

Marlow's Fisheries, located in Little Hocking, Ohio, opened its doors fifteen years ago. Owners, Vonda and John Marlow, and their son Mike have a tremendous amount of experience with ponds and water gardens, a variety of fish including Koi, pond plants, and even peacocks. Vonda continuously updates her education on fish disease and water gardening. She has taught Water Gardening classes at Washington State Community College and has been the guest speaker at seminars across the United States. While Vonda no longer goes on site building and maintaining ponds, for many years she would stock farm ponds and check them for problems. Mike also owns and operates Marlow's Fishing Park and Hatchery. He continues to go on site to stock and maintain ponds.

Along with Dave and Joanne Clem, Mrs. Marlow helped start the Ohio Valley Koi and Water Garden Club, which meets at the Belpre Library the 4th of each month, and also tours area gardens. The pond at the Parkersburg City Park in West Virginia, was created and built by Vonda.

With more than 20 peacocks, Vonda's interests go beyond Water Gardens and Fish. Twenty six years ago, Vonda wanted some peacock feathers and ended up buying the peacocks because they were less expensive. She soon discovered that they help keep bugs and snakes away. Her farm also consists of registered Limosine cattle, rabbits, dogs, cats, and 20 pet Koi.

Many school groups and scouts come to visit Marlow's Fisheries and farm. They are able to tour the facility, feed the fish, learn about tadpoles and snails and can even take a goldfish home with them.
